Steve lives in the beautiful tropical city of Cairns which is in the far north of Queensland, Australia. The city is shrouded by rainforest clad mountains inland with The Great Barrier Reef being just off the coast which is an ideal setting to inspire anyone with creative ability. Steve is a self taught carver/sculptor who commenced carving/sculpture as a hobby1985 – 86 during which time his primary income was derived from a small carpentry and renovation business. He has been fortunate enough, with of course, "a little hard work" and perseverance, to make a living from his art/craft since late1989. Steve’s first works were quite simple with more importance being placed on retaining a rustic and natural appearance, yet were never the less elegant and most definitely unique in form. Wave-like bowls soon became very popular with discerning collectors.
