A psychic woman told me nearly 30 years ago that I would run my own business and I nearly fell off the chair laughing. I was a young mum with 2 small children at the time. Yet, here I am now with a full time job running Patchwork Pumpkin.

After years of selling quilts at craft markets and teaching at home and in a patchwork shop I started a mail order business with a friend, June Gilchrist, that turned into a shop called Patchwork Pumpkin. When June retired in 2003, I decided to continue on my own and focus on designing on original patterns.

I have had a very positive response so far and luckily for me, I have a great team of support staff. My daughter, Natasha helps in the shop, types up all the patterns and does some of the general office work in between looking after Charlie her four year old daughter.

Our aim is to produce a least one new quilt every month so... watch this space!
