ARTIST INFORMATION

Helen Norton left Broome, Australia in the year 2000 to reside on the island of Efate in Vanuatu with her two sons to paint and write. She returned to Australia in 2003 and now lives and works from her studio on her farm in a beautiful green valley behind the Blackall Ranges in Queensland.

As an optomistic generalist she has faith in the individuals of the world doing their little bit towards growing up as a “world together” and believes that individuals committing seemingly small acts of responsibility in their own backyards is the key to “saving the world” from itself and its journey of self destruction. Thus debunking the helpless cop out attitude of waiting for a savior to fix it all up for us. She adopts a very practical philosophical approach, despite intellectual indulgences from time to time.
